The Phewa Lake and the reflection of the Himalayas have become my landscape, my real world. The Phewa Lake located at the central Pokhara valley is one of the most popular tourist destination. The Phewa Lake containing fresh water occupies the total area of 122.53 km2. It is also the only lake in Nepal which contains temple at the central part of the lake. Isn’t it the wonder of nature?
Reflection of Mt. Machhapuchhre on the Phewa Lake aid to the beauty of Phewa Lake. Boating is another special feature of the Phewa Lake. Basically we find three types of boats i.e pedal-driven boats, row boats and sail boats. With the help of these we can enjoy the real beauty of nature. We can even find different floras and faunas around the Phewa Lake. Phewa is the home for 18 fish species many birds like white wagtail motacillaalbo, common kingfisher, and white throated king fisher and many more, Reptiles, frogs and invertebrates like snails, insects. The faunas found here gives plus point to its beauty. The Phewa Lake is the source for irrigation and fisheries in Pokhara. The natural beauty of Phewa Lake can be enjoyed by paragliding which is done just above the lake. Not only the natural aspects but the religious aspect of Phewa Lake is remarkable. The temple which is located at center of the Phewa Lake is famous for its religious and cultural values. The hindu goddess durga is worshiped at the temple. Every evening there is a grand aarati program done to please the goddess. Phewa Lake is located at the centre of Pokhara i.e Lakeside which is also called the heart of the valley. The areas near the Phewa Lake are covered by hotels and lodges so that you can get the view of one of the nature’s wonderful creation from the place you are staying.
The breathtaking view of Phewa Lake makes you feel like you in Garden of Eden. A lake is the landscape’s most beautiful and expressive feature. It is earth’s eye; looking into which the beholder measures the depth of his own nature. Time wasted at the lake is time well spent.
